Harley Davidson Performance
A Harley Davidson is not just a bike that is known for its power, at least outside the showroom floor. For years, riders bought a Harley Davidson for the style, comfort and heritage that comes with owning a piece of American iron from a company with such a great history as Harley Davidson.
That being said, most Harley Davidson owners feel worse for more power almost from the minute they pick up their new Harley Davidson. The first place they turn to is usually a new set of tubes, not just for the power but for the Harley Davidson exhaust pipe. Nothing sounds better than a Harley running away from a stop light.
I am a self-integrated pipe junkie and I have tried a number of different exhaust pipes on my 2007 FXSTB Nightrain. My bike is a bit warmer than most with a 107 ci engine, cams and ported heads but still I still find myself having more power. I recently replaced my 2 in 2 exhaust system from a very reputable tube company and replaced it with a D&D Fat Cat 2 in 1 Harley tube. I had read about the strong effect gains that can be obtained with a 2 to 1 tube and all I can say is WOW!
The fit and finish of the D&D tube is amazing and they are installed quickly and easily. I was also very happy when I kicked it up for the first time to hear the exhaust note. It was quieter than 2 in 2 tubes that I had before, which can make a wrinkle on some Harley owners faces, but while it was quieter, it sounded alot. D & D Fat Cat gives a nice deep ass with a lot of bass to it and when you crack the go-stick it becomes a nice deep brother. I don't know I've ever heard a set of Harley tubes that sound better.
The performance rate is noticeable. I will admit that I do not have the new tubes, but the "butt dyno" tells me that these tubes definitely do more bottom end and mid range power, which is exactly what a 2 in 1 tube should do. The bike is significantly more torque and becomes much easier from a stop light. I can also feel the difference when I roll in on the gas, the bike runs forward with no clue or hesitation.
I realize that it is hardly scientific but to be an abuser of all my life, I can safely tell when something works and when it does not. These D&D Fat Cat tubes will put a smile on your face, especially if you have a modified Harley Davidson.
