The new trend that seems to have gripped the nation's rich crowd is the crazy thing to own an SUV, a sports vehicle. From politicians to top industries, from cricketers to actors; everyone seems to want at least one SUV. No company has any doubts that it is in any industry, the Indian market is the best market to sell in.
The auto companies are one of the companies that see India as one of the booming markets. The heavy weights in this sector are now targeting the SUV as another revenue generating opportunity. They are now trying to mount Sports Utility Vehicles in India to reduce the price that allows them to get more customers. Since the vehicle will be mounted in India, the usual duty on them will be drastically lowered.
Besides just making big money, these companies give equal importance to customer satisfaction that they create a base of satisfied and opposite customers. For an SUV to be imported as a whole car without mounting any part of it, the price will be about Rs 40 lakhs, which is about 110% of the total duty. On the other hand, if we look at a car mounted in India, the price of the car would be close to the Rs 30 level.
Hyundai, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Renault and Tata Land-Rover are some of the big companies looking at the task of assembling SUVs in India and then selling it to their customers. Among these companies, Audi is the one who assembles part of the luxurious Audi Q5 model.
It's just a matter of time before we see that competition in the SUV sector is also rising.
