& # 147; If I were you, suicide would be a way of life. If you were me, you kill yourself. & # 148; (Evidence)
Before I start talking about the D12's talented Mc Proof, I would like to thank and credit the webmaster on the following Derty Harry website for the rare information I found about Deshaun Holton aka Derty Harry aka Proof:
[http://angelfire.com/bxc3/dertyharry/main_bio.html]Deshaun Holton aka Proof was born on October 2, 1975 in Detroit.
Although they did not attend the same high school, Eminem and Proof have been friends since 1988. They lived in the same street in Detroit.
Evidence used to go to Osbourne High School while Eminem attended Lincoln High. Both friends used to skip high school to rap together: Eminem skipped Lincoln High and used to come to Proof's school often, because both friends wanted to rap together. Here's how they met:
& # 147; I skipped the school and he also jumped at the school and sent out flyers to his concert that he had in Centreline. It was like, or something. & # 148; (Evidence)
Some (white) underground Mcs from Detroit that Backstab Kingpin are convinced of the racism of the evidence. But Deshaun's statements seem to be the opposite.
CDNow asked how he knew about Eminem's skin color when they met:
CDNow: Did you know what this blonde white baby was?
Evidence: You know I went to Catholic school and had a good, big friend of mine who happened to be Irish; we were best friends since the sixth class. So when I saw [Eminem] was white, I didn't even jump out so when he rapped, he was dope. What made us dope and became big friends we were both rhyme "first place" and "birthday" and we have been tight since then [laughs]. & # 148;
Eminem and Proof have been real friends since the beginning. When Eminem was kicked out of his home, he would sleep in Proof's house.
It is well known that Proof is a great freestyle. He won the freestyling competition in the Source magazine in 1999. He is a better freestyle than Marshall, but Marshall's power is in the way he manages his words in his texts. That's exactly what Proof says about their complementary talent:
& # 147; We were both impressed by each other. The advantage I have over Em is freestyling; I'm the kind of guy who releases the head, right? The advantage he had over me was that he knew how to write intricately; He knew how to put a song together and give feelings about it. That's why I went under him, like "Yes, show me the ropes, the homeboy."
The idea of the D12 group consisting of talented MC and sick aliases with popped into Proof's mind:
"I was in New York, I had this deal with Tommy Boy who didn't work, unfortunately. But I just had this idea that we could put together a team of dope MCs, put a lot of Detroit as far as having MCs with Everybody's solo took so we make alias, like Eminem's Slim Shady and I'm Derty Harry, and call it Dirty Dozen - and at this time, to be honest with you, we thought The Dirty Dozen was a Western movie, we didn't know it was an army movie [laughs].
It suits us, the army rather than western, because we see ourselves as pistol-lingers, lyrical loops. Then the idea was to form a pact, while this team, the one who comes out first comes back and gets the rest of the group. "
Evidence has always been sure of Eminem's loyalty, although some other members of the group may have been worried:
& # 147; Not me; I've been there since day one, almost. I think the rest of the group may not have been there, but Proof has been next to Eminem all the time. I play a leadership role in the group where I talk to everyone else. Em is like the president, and I'm the general. I talk to the rest of the traps and put them in line and show them in the direction. It is also a family, so there will be a lot of fighting and bickering, and some people may have known it may not be as it should be. So yes, there were times when people felt funny about things. But now everyone thinks back on it, and we beat out nothing. & # 148;
According to the evidence, Eminem's success was the best that could have happened to D12:
& # 147; Right. Some people look at us as: "You will be Eminem's group. You will be in his shadow." They do not realize how positive and good it is to hear; If you are in the shade of a guy who can sell nearly 10 million items in just lonely states, well. It is not an injury to us. But when they hear the album they hear the individual's individuality, how everyone keeps their own. & # 148;
It is so true that every D12 emcee has its own talent and ability to rap.
It is less known that Proof's first-step name was & # 147; Maximum & # 148;. Evidence has always been appreciated in Detroit for his canola and his freestyling qualities. He changed his nickname when people started calling him "Living Proof & # 148;" because in many people's minds the proof was "Living proof of the living MCs in Detroit".
Evidence has collaborated and still cooperates with many artists such as Dogmatic.
Proof's first released CD was called & # 147; From Death & # 148; and co-produced with the Da Goon Squad.
He has released a CD called & # 147; Promatic & # 148; with dogmatic and a six-track solo EP called "Search for Jerry Garcia".
As for Eminem, Detroit has been very influential toward Proof describing his hometown as "the kind of place where eye contact can kill you, and even as a city where the sun never shines, full of potholes, snow and con artists ready to jacket everything you have ".
